Highlights
“Marly Palomino farms in Incahuasi, in Peru's La Convención province of Cusco, on volcanic and rocky soils where guava, citrus and erythrina grow between the coffee. She keeps fertility up with organic compost supplied by her cooperative. The cultivar is SL9, one of the single-tree selections made by Kenya's Scott Agricultural Laboratories in 1935-1939 and rare in production today. Coffea Circulor lists a 48-hour anaerobic step followed by a traditional washed protocol and 14 days on raised meshes, vacuum sealed before export, in a 30 kg lot, and scores it 90.0. The cup is bergamot, mango and yellow plum, with chamomile and honey in the aroma, mandarin citrus acidity and a juicy light body.”
