“Hacienda La Esmeralda, the Peterson family's farm in Cañas Verdes above Boquete, put Geisha on the map in 2004 and still sells its lots by name. Fundador is a 6.75-hectare block at 1,700 metres with roughly 3,500 mm of rain a year and daily swings from 16-24°C down to 14-17°C at night, which is what gives the variety its definition here. The Geisha was picked on 26 February 2026 and washed, and Substance buys it direct. Cupped a few hours after roasting: violet, strawberry, passionfruit and jasmine when hot; jasmine, violet, rose and lychee with cherry-like red fruit as it warms; peach, jasmine, violet and cascara, velvety, when cold. 100 g at €70, out of stock as of 7 November 2026 with a roast date of 19/10/2026.”
