“Portón 2NB comes from the Portón plot at El Velo, one of the farms that make up Hacienda La Esmeralda in the Chiriquí highlands. The 2026 harvest was picked in January, given a 12-hour whole-cherry fermentation and dried slowly on raised beds for roughly 23 days - no elaborate protocol, just ripe fruit, careful drying and time. Standout selected the plot last year and came back for this harvest. The cup is natural Gesha with unusual clarity: cherry blossom and lavender aromatics opening into cantaloupe, strawberry and orange, bright acidity, silky texture and a long floral finish. The Peterson family's separated Jaramillo Gesha won Best of Panama in 2004 and reshaped how the industry thinks about variety, plot and terroir.”
