“Gichuna Estate is a family-run farm in Kiambu County, Central Kenya, operated by David Mburu Mwangi, who inherited the land from his mother, Peninah Warura Mwangi. The estate cultivates 100% SL28, the variety that gave Kenyan coffee its jammy reputation and that was originally selected to address regional drought. Cherries are washed and dried on the estate; Rogue Wave describes the cup as vibrant but restrained, with grapefruit, blackberry, dried dates and a sugar-crusted grilled-grapefruit finish. Roasted for both filter and espresso.”
