Highlights
“Gutiti washing station sits in Yirgacheffe, in the Sidamo region of southern Ethiopia, where roughly 600 farmers working at about 2,200 metres deliver cherries. Fruit is floated and sorted on arrival, then dried on raised beds of wood posts covered with burlap for 14 to 20 days. The station is managed by SNAP Specialty Coffee, founded in Addis Ababa by Negusse in 2008; SNAP runs three washing stations in Chelelektu, Kochere and partners in Uraga, Guji and Nensebo, working with more than 6,000 farmers.”
