Highlights
“Bona Zuria washing station sits in Bona Zuria village in Ethiopia's Bensa zone, Sidama, at 2,000-2,330 metres. Coffee growing here only became viable recently as temperatures shifted, so the trees are young and in their prime, and the district is producing cups with the brightness usually associated with Yirgacheffe. Pulped coffee is fermented without water in tanks, sorted into small batches so wild yeasts and bacteria have more surface to work on, then washed. Farms are smallholder plots around Ayele Tulu's station, planted with JARC selections 74158, 74165, 74112, 74110 and 7440.”
