Varieties
Process Method
Highlights
“Oscar Riascos and his family planted their first trees at La Macarena (Pacamara, Geisha, and Bourbon) during an uncertain period, driven by a conviction that each variety could become something exceptional. Working alongside his brother Darwin and neighbour Wilton Benítez, Oscar developed a rigorous approach to processing that set his farm apart in Piendamó, Cauca. That commitment was recognized in 2024 when he took home Best Coffee of Cauca. La Macarena sits at 1,900 masl in the Cauca region of southwestern Colombia, where the Andean Volcanic Belt contributes mineral-rich soils and a climate well-suited to high-quality arabica production. Proximity to Wilton Benítez has brought more precise, scientific processing methods to the farm, giving Oscar an edge in an increasingly competitive market.”
