Subtext 90/60/30 April Brewer Method
"A 3-pour method using the April Brewer to achieve a 15-16% extraction yield with a coarse grind."
Subtext Coffee Roasters
Tips & Preparation
• The April Brewer is a flat-bottom dripper with a slow flow rate. • This recipe targets a 15-16% extraction yield, lower than the conventional 18-22%. • The lower extraction aims for a sweeter spot due to the bimodal grind distribution. • The initial 90g bloom is larger than typical to avoid astringency and reduce brew time. • Using a typical 16:1 ratio would result in a weak coffee, so the coffee dose is increased to compensate.
