Americano Soda
"A refreshing, sparkling, and balanced coffee drink featuring Moka pot coffee, lime, salt, sugar, and soda water."
Matteo D'Ottavio
Tips & Preparation
- Background Knowledge
- Recipe inspired by Uncle Ty in Bangkok to beat the summer heat.
- Preparations
- Use a 3-cup Moka Express.
- Place a paper filter on top of the metal filter and wet it slightly.
- Prepare 5g sugar, a pinch of salt, 3g lime juice, 120g soda, and ice.
- Variations & Adjustments
- Can substitute soda with tonic water for a different flavor profile.
- Grind size is 19 clicks on the grinder.
- If coffee overflows the basket after tamping, reduce the dose slightly (especially for dark roasts).
- Be cautious with salt; too much will make the drink undrinkable; only a small pinch is needed.
- Adjust ice quantity to change dilution level.
