Tips & Preparation
Control vs. Convenience.: The V60 gives you maximum control, while the Hoop prioritizes ease of use and consistency.
Key notes:
- Designed for ease of use, automating the pour-over experience.
- Requires no pouring kettle; water is poured into the reservoir.
- Minimal technique required; add coffee, add water, and wait.
Filter:
- Factory standard filter papers may result in longer brew times (8 minutes).
- Scott Rao's alternative papers are preferred for faster flow and tastier brews (4 minutes).
Grind:
- Grind adjustments have a bigger impact due to zero bypass brewing.
Recipe Steps
Place the (Scott Rao’s)filter paper and secure it with the flow tower inside the Hoop brewer. Add the coffee grounds to the central flow tower

Add all the hot water (~250g) into the outer reservoir.

Optional Stir: If a crust forms, gently knock it down or use a light stir if the slurry is very floaty.

Brew Finished. Remove the brewer and enjoy your coffee.
