"Njemu Estate was established in 1998 by Irene and Simon Nyaga at the foothills of Mount Kenya. This small estate spans just over three hectares and produces around 100 bags of coffee per year. The name 'Njemu' comes from their two sons' names, Njeru and Muchiri. Simon grew up here in the 1960s, inherited the property in the 1980s, and worked 30 years as an agronomist specializing in coffee and tea. Today he applies his expertise as the estate's agronomist while Irene manages overall operations. The family focuses on legacy rather than volume, cultivating the land as something meaningful to pass to their children."
