Highlights
“Aquiares Estate has produced coffee continuously since 1890 on the slopes of the Turrialba Volcano, one of Costa Rica's oldest and largest farms at 924 hectares, around 80% of it shade-grown Arabica. This lot is Centroamericano, the first F1 hybrid released for Central America, a CIRAD, PROMECAFE and CATIE cross of the Ethiopian heirloom Rume Sudan and the rust-resistant T5296 Sarchimor. Cherries are depulped with a Penagos DCV 306, given a short six-hour partial fermentation, mechanically washed and dried for about 32 hours in Guardiola dryers at 45-55 C.”
