“Casimiro Garcia and his family run El Aguacate, a family farm in San Agustin Loxicha in the Sierra Sur region of southern Oaxaca. They are of the indigenous Zapotec tradition, growing coffee alongside avocados. The farm grows the Pluma variety, a local mutation of old-stock Typica cultivated in the region for over 80 years. Casimiro works alongside his wife Reyna, and his two older sons support with processing, agronomy, and marketing.”
