Highlights
“Santa Elena is a Cafelino farm in the hills above Boquete, Chiriquí, where the family grows several arabica varieties with hand-picking only. The variety in this lot is Obata, still rare in specialty coffee: a Timor Hybrid x Villa Sarchi selection bred for disease resistance that keeps a strong aromatic potential, and at altitude it gives a soft, structured, expressive cup. Washed — pulp removed, controlled fermentation to clear the mucilage, then washed and dried slowly on African beds. In the cup Brazil nut brings sweetness, caramel adds body and dried figs wrap it up. 2026 harvest, 87 points, roasted for espresso, 200 g at €15.90.”
