Highlights
“Muchagara is the oldest wet processing centre in Kirinyaga, named after the village on the district's western side and operating since 1959. More than 1,500 members deliver cherry to its 200 drying tables, tiled fermentation tanks and grading channels. Processing is traditional Kenyan: dry fermentation, washing and grading in fresh river water, then drying on raised beds. September's second Muchagara release tastes of juicy black currants, grapefruit acidity and fig sweetness, with a silky body and sparkling finish.”
