Highlights
“Around 700 smallholder farmers in Murang'a county deliver their cherry to the Riakiberu washing station, where the volcanic soil, the heavy presence of SL28 in this part of Kenya, and the station's methodical processing combine into a textbook Kenyan cup. Rowan roasts it to hold that structure: syrupy body and layered acidity rather than the softer, flatter profile that has become common in Kenyan exports. In the cup the fruit runs deep — pomegranate and huckleberry up front, rosehip in the acidity, then pineapple and nectarine on the finish.”
