Highlights
“Andrés Reyes Hernandez farms four hectares at 1670 to 1700 metres in the mountains of Pozo Negro, Intibucá, Honduras, where coffee is a family inheritance: his grandfather helped pioneer production in the community. Today Andrés works the land with his wife Teresa and their family, growing the IH-90 varietal, a hybrid developed in Honduras through the 1980s and 90s. He is part of the Intibucá project, a group of sixty producers who pool resources and knowledge across the Masaguara municipality to invest in wet mills, drying infrastructure and better lot separation, improving traceability and opening access to the specialty market. Round Hill roasts this washed lot for both filter and espresso. In the cup, expect sour cherry, rosehip jam and dark chocolate: a crisp, clean Honduran washed coffee.”
