Highlights
“Mwasa is one of the few washing stations in Rwanda that is genuinely owned by its farmers. Ten of them founded it in 2006, repaid the start-up loan by 2010, and have run it independently ever since, together tending close to 100,000 Bourbon trees that feed the station. Their methods have become a model for neighbouring producers. This microlot, Lot 773, was pulped, wet-fermented and dried on raised beds at 1,636 metres in Nyamasheke, then roasted light enough to keep the cup balanced rather than fruit-forward. It earned a place in Roadmap's Daily Driver lineup, a rarity for an African coffee.”
