“Stancoff Company Limited was founded in 2018 by Manzi Junior Francis and Elly Wakadala, two recent university graduates who chose entrepreneurship over a tight job market. Starting out as cherry sourcing agents for multinational coffee companies, they learned the value chain well enough to become a registered Ugandan processor and exporter running centralised stations in Rubirizi and Rwimi. In Kabarole District near Fort Portal, Stancoff works with a network of 203 coffee farmers, 80 of them women, supported by lead farmers who buy cherry from their communities and prepare it for delivery. Roughly 70 tonnes of cherry this season yielded close to 10 tonnes of export-grade green coffee, processed in Rubirizi and dry-milled in Mbale before export.”
