Highlights
“Amederaro, in the Konga area of Kochere, is classic Yirgacheffe garden-coffee country: smallholders grow a few trees around their homes and gardens at 1,800-2,100 metres, and each farmer's carefully picked cherries are pooled into a single lot. Project Origin, the Australia-based producer group behind this lot, named it Opal after the gemstone that shifts colour with the light, because these coffees show layered fruit and floral character. Philocoffea roasts it light to keep the perfume and syrupy body.”
