“Demetrio Sanchez Pino has been producing coffee for 14 years in La Plata, Huila, Colombia. After attending a workshop on Gesha, he decided to give the varietal a try, and the combination of his methods and high-altitude terroir have proven to be a powerful pairing. This coffee was a contender at this year's Copa de Oro competition — a star from the first round and notable in prior years — but was kept out of the finals for an issue attributable to roast rather than the quality of the beans themselves. When cupped, it presents the signature lemon-candy acidity of Gesha, together with tropical juiciness and delicate florals, grown at 2100 masl and washed processed.”
