“The Banko Gotiti washing station was established in 2009 in Gedeb woreda, Gedeo zone, and collects cherries from smallholder plots of about two hectares each, roughly 1,300 hectares in total, most of them between 1,950 and 2,100 masl. Coffee there is shade-grown and intercropped with indigenous trees and false banana, and the current factory manager is Museyid Sermelo. Immature and overripe cherries are sorted out before pulping. The lot was sourced through Nordic Approach.”
