Highlights
“Mariana is a natural-process Costa Rican coffee grown at Aquiares, the country's largest single-block coffee estate, on the slopes of the Turrialba volcano. Owner Diego Robelo farms the F1 hybrid Mariana — closely related to Starmaya and one of the first F1 hybrids in the world propagated by seed rather than tissue cloning. Cherries are floated, then dried for two days on ceramic patios and ten to fifteen days on raised African beds before a Guardiola machine finish and six to eight weeks of GrainPro resting. Nomad has bought directly from Aquiares for ten consecutive years.”
