“Kayon Mountain is a 240 hectare farm in Guji, southern Ethiopia, privately owned by Ato Esmael and his family and run since 2012 with an eye on socially and environmentally responsible production. The land sits on fertile sandy clay loam beneath a canopy of natural forest, which shelters the coffee from temperature swings. Hand-turned and picked over across a 12-20 day dry on raised beds, the lot is a natural-process heirloom selection.”
