Highlights
“Ichuga Station delivers high quality coffees year after year and their AA is exemplary of the fruity cup profiles that the world has come to associate with Kenyan coffee. Located in Nyeri, mountainous Central Kenya, where coffee plants thrive on the red, volcanic fertile soil. Ichuga station lies at 1700 masl and cherries are delivered by farmers who work exclusively with the Kiama Farmer Cooperative Society that runs it. Farmers selectively pick ripe cherries and deliver them to the station where they're carefully sorted before further processing. The coffee is first depulped, fermented and washed with clean water to remove any remaining mucilage. Parchment is then spread out on raised beds and covered during the hottest time of the day and overnight to prevent drying damage. Drying takes approximately two weeks, depending on the weather circumstances. We have worked with Ichuga for numerous years now and this year it marks the start of our 2026 Kenya coffee line-up. This coffee was sourced through our importing partner Sucafina.”
