“Nyeri Hill Farm is located about 2 km northwest of Nyeri town, around 300 km north of Nairobi. Sitting between 1,800 and 2,200 metres above sea level, the farm is surrounded by Mount Kenya to the northeast, Nyeri Hill to the west, and the Aberdare ridges to the northwest. The farm covers approximately 1,415 hectares with around 344 hectares planted with coffee. Owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, coffee was first planted here in 1914, making it one of the earliest coffee plantations in East Africa. Income generated has supported schools, seminaries, and a hospital over the past century.”
