Rwanda, Gicumbi Lot 9

“Working with Kalisimbi Kiwieds Coffee (KKC) is always a pleasure. KKC started in 1995 and has two main farms: Gicumbi in the northern province and Gatsibo in the eastern province. Lot 9 is from Gicumbi in the northern province. These cherries are harvested from 10 year old bourbon trees and then go through a washing process where the cherries are float tested before getting depulped and sent down washing channels to clean all the mucilage off the seed. This coffee is dried on raised coffee beds and turned constantly to promote even drying. Gicumbi is one of our favorites from Rwanda and this coffee is a great example of what a clean and transparent coffee should taste like.”
