“Namisuni is a natural Uganda from The Coffee Yard, a small Mbale company founded in 2018 by a group of women with technical support from Norman Mukuru, a quality consultant with 15 years in the industry. TCY buys ripe cherries from a network of smallholders chosen for sound farm management, hauls them to its Sironko processing station in the plains where gentler conditions favour controlled drying, and finishes the lots at its secondary station in Mbale. Quality control sits with board member Maria Kirya, and an optical sorter now supports the grading. The result is an atypical natural: fig and red fruit with date and caramel sweetness.”
