“La Leona is the farm Arthur, one of L'Alchimiste's founders, came across in December 2019 while travelling in Colombia; the roaster now buys its entire production. Finca Cafetera La Leona sits in the Planadas terroir of southern Tolima, in the village of Gaitania, where Laura — second generation of the family — farms polycultures without herbicide and is working toward organic agriculture. Since January 2025 the coffee has reached Bordeaux by sail through the Fresh Coffee Clean Ocean project, which cuts about half the transit time. The cup is soft and very balanced: fig and honey, with the gentle biscuit note the roast is built to bring out.”
