Highlights
“Campestre is L'Alchimiste's Brazilian: a natural from Sul de Minas, the southern arm of Minas Gerais that grows around 30% of the country's coffee. The town of Campestre sits in the region's volcanic belt, where soil inherited from an extinct volcano, 850 to 1,250 m of altitude and 1,700 mm of annual rain combine into a terroir that pushes sweetness. Coffee arrived here in the 1850s and gradually displaced dairy farming as the main agricultural activity. Catucai and Arara give a cup that is soft, round and full-bodied, hazelnut and cacao rather than fruit.”
