“Alaka lavé is a hand-picked forest coffee from Metad's Guji terroir, near Alaka Korchena. Metad is a producer group based in Bishan Fugu, started by members of the Ethiopian diaspora who came home after years in the United States to build export-grade traceability around the country's most famous crop; the group also funds social and environmental projects locally. This washed lot leans on delicacy rather than power, which is why L'Alchimiste roasts it fast and light with little development and a gentle final bean temperature — peach, acacia honey and flowers, clean and subtle.”
