“In the mountains of Tabaconas, in the province of San Ignacio (Cajamarca), near the border with Ecuador, Edilberto Bermeo cultivates Geisha on his farm La Chirimoya. This area is considered one of the most promising regions in Peru. Edilberto is not from a historic family of large producers. In 2023, he entered the Top 10 of the Peru Cup of Excellence with a Geisha called El Pino, scoring 89.41 points. The farm works organically and is linked to Aromas del Valle, an organization that helps producers improve quality, traceability, and access to international markets.”
