“Hacienda La Esmeralda's Landrace grows out of a research project the farm started in 2007: 400 coffee accessions were planted at El Velo, and every year each variety is washed processed, dried and evaluated on its own. The best-performing accessions are then mixed into the Landrace, a delicate coffee carrying the classic character of Panamanian Gesha. This lot comes from El Velo in Alto Quiel at 1,700 masl and above, and KALVE roasts it light for filter.”
