“Mengeche Derso farms 15 hectares in the highlands of Ethiopia's Gedeo Zone, around Yirgacheffe, working the land with four of his children. His coffee came through the Halo Beriti washing station—a station with a reputation for careful work and excellent coffee. Part of Café Imports' Single Farmer Project, this lot keeps Mengeche's cherries separate through sorting, rinsing, and drying on raised beds, maintaining traceability to him rather than blending with other farmers' coffees. The result is an intense, generously fruity natural with bright acidity and plenty of sweetness.”
