“Alejo Castro is a fifth-generation descendant of the families who planted some of Costa Rica's first specialty coffee, and Volcan Azul in the West Valley grows on highly fertile volcanic soil. This SL28 lot is fermented as an anaerobic natural and lands on the balanced side for the variety: juicy fruit flavours, high sweetness and a clean, winey structure rather than the sharper acidity SL28 often shows in Kenya.”
