“Danche Washing Station serves around 800 farmers in Chelbesa, inside Ethiopia's Gedeb coffee-growing area, with farms typically of two to three hectares at an average of about 2,200 metres. The station is managed by SNAP Specialty Coffee, which also supports producers with agronomy training and nursery management. Whole cherries are fermented in tanks for three days, then dried on raised beds in the sun for 16-21 days, turned regularly for even drying. Kurume and Wolisho are the local landraces in this lot.”
