Highlights
“Sertao has been the espresso Hoppenworth & Ploch serve in their Frankfurt cafes for years, and this is the same green coffee decaffeinated. The Pereira family has grown coffee for generations in Brazil's Carmo de Minas region, on 330 hectares between 1,100 and 1,450 m; cherries are harvested from June to August and processed as a natural before the decaf version is made. Decaffeination happens in Bremen with the Carbonic-Natural process, which uses carbonic acid rather than solvents and keeps much of the character that makes Sertao reliable: dark chocolate and hazelnut in the cup, a sweet, classic espresso profile that also holds up in milk drinks. Sold in 250 g bags, whole bean or ground for portafilter, Aeropress or stovetop.”
