“Foundation sources this lot from two washing stations in Muyinga, northern Burundi: Nyagishiru CWS, which collects cherry from 12 nearby hills, and Busasa CWS, which works with roughly 1,600 farmers. The area combines high-altitude growing, mineral-rich volcanic soils and anaerobic natural processing. Coffees from these stations have placed in the Cup of Excellence competition in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017, and this lot is scored 86.25. In the cup Foundation describes red apple, plum and milk chocolate, a full round body, delicate sweet aroma and a long, sweet, chocolatey aftertaste.”
