“Ibonia is a long-standing family estate in Kiambu, just outside Nairobi, sitting at around 1,700 m with much of the land preserved as natural forest - the slow, cool maturation that SL28 and SL34 thrive on. This fully washed AA lot shows what Fjord looks for from Kiambu: precision, clarity and lift. Redcurrant and raspberry lead, moving into a sweet muscat-grape character and a gentle citrus line, with a delicate floral aroma and a long, clean finish. The extended soak after washing adds polish and definition without sacrificing sweetness. 'AA' refers to screen size - the larger beans - rather than quality per se.
