Highlights
“Excelsa is a different part of coffee's family, with a much smaller commercial presence than arabica or robusta, and this natural-process lot from Quảng Trị in Vietnam is the starting point for exploring it. Natural processing dries the coffee fruit around the seed before the seed is removed, and here that lands as a low-acid, full-bodied cup: chicory, tobacco and cherry on the company's own production roast, floral and cherry on the retail bag. It sits outside the Foundation, Incline, Summit and Paradise series. The lot is not decaf, and no lab-tested caffeine figure is claimed for it. Roasted by Naomi Joe Coffee Roasters in Tacoma, Washington.”
