“CODECH (Coordinadora de Organizaciones de Desarrollo de Concepción Huista) brings together four base cooperatives - ADIPY, ADINTHEC, ADAT and Bitenam - whose members belong to the Popti, Mam and Q'anjob'al branches of the Mayan family in the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes, the highest range in Central America. Since 2009 Atlas Coffee Importers has worked with CODECH on quality control and traceability, ranking producers by farm elevation and running an annual internal cupping competition; Evans Brothers judged it in 2019 and now buys from producers they met there. Fair Trade and organic certified, medium roasted.”
