“Roughly 1,200 smallholders on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya deliver cherry to Nguguini Factory, a wet mill established near Karatina in 1958. The farms sit at 1,600-1,800 m, where cooler conditions ripen cherry slowly; lots are hand sorted, fermented, washed, soaked and dried slowly on raised African beds before a light filter roast.”
