“At 14 Nelcy Villanueva left her family in Tolima for Bogotá; after a decade in business administration she returned to the countryside to join her husband on his farm two hours south of the city. Over eight years there she became a leader in the local coffee association, training and supporting women growers so they can be economically independent in a field dominated by men. The Villanueva lot, named for her, comes from Cundinamarca at 1,500 m, Castillo and Cenicafe 1, and 1% of every bag goes to Devoción's Impact Fund.”
