Highlights
“Bahire is a single isolated hillside in Ngozi Province, northern Burundi, where smallholders grow Red Bourbon mostly in their backyards and harvest in small amounts. Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, floated to remove defects, depulped, fermented and sorted in concrete washing channels, then dried in the sun — first in shade, before being spread and shaped into pyramids for even air exposure. The name translates from Kirundi as Be Well.”
