“The Tomazini family has farmed Bateia in Castelo, Espírito Santo since Valdeir's great-grandfather broke the land, and they were among the first in the region to chase specialty-grade pulped coffee after 2001. Valdeir runs the farm with his wife Maria and children Aline and Abner: 22,000 trees, about 250 bags a year, roughly a third of it specialty. This semi-washed lot blends Catuaí and Catucaí 785 and tastes like apricot, macadamia and toasted marshmallow, soft and comforting in the cup.”
