“Danche is a locality in the Chelbesa kebele of Gedeb, Gedeo, where Habtamu Fikadu's Kuri Mountain Coffee processed this lot; the company was founded in 2015 by a family whose coffee roots go back to 1945. Cherries are sorted for defects, pulped and fermented 24 hours with about 10% of the mucilage left on, then hand washed and dried 9-12 days on shaded beds, turned every few hours. Delicate roasted it in Chicago as their opening Ethiopian of the season, in two small batches dated 19 and 21 October 2026.”
