“Petronila Morales Mendez and her husband Jaime Ramirez Luis farm three parcels in the village of Canoguitas, San Pedro Necta, Huehuetenango, at roughly 1,980 masl, growing Caturra and Bourbon. Coffee goes back generations on both sides of their family, and about 30 years ago they bought their first parcel together. The couple handles the picking crew, field labor and drying themselves, giving special attention to picking only ripe cherry.”
