Highlights
“Finca Villa Luna is a two-hectare farm in Vereda La Cartagena, Urrao, Antioquia, owned and farmed by Wilmar Urrego Benitez. He bought it 15 years ago for commercial coffee, then started planting Chiroso in 2017 after hearing about the variety from neighbouring producers, and moved the whole farm to specialty three years ago. Around 2,500 Chiroso trees are in production at 1,800 metres, with another 1,000 coming on. The lot is anaerobically fermented overnight in cherry, depulped without water, sealed for a second fermentation of about 60 hours, rinsed and dried under cover for 8 to 12 days. Orange fruits, pomelo, apricot and peach over caramelly sweetness.”
