Highlights
“This lot brings together contributions from approximately 900 smallholder farmers in Bensa woreda, Ethiopia, with farms under two hectares managed using traditional, low-input methods. Coffee is grown alongside food crops under native shade trees. Farmers deliver freshly harvested cherry daily to the Ayla washing station, operated by Testi Specialty Coffee, with payments tied to quality. Processing begins with hand sorting and density grading, followed by 36-48 hours of wet fermentation, washing, and drying on raised beds under shade for 5-7 days.”
