Highlights
“CETO split this lot with Norml. Kathakwa Factory belongs to the long-standing Kibugu Farmers Cooperative Society and draws cherry from more than 1,000 smallholders straddling the Embu-Kirinyaga border, with agronomic training and pre-harvest financing from the cooperative. Ripe cherry is delivered daily and processed on Kenya's traditional disc depulpers, followed by a 24-hour wet fermentation and a clean water soak, then slow-dried on raised beds for one to two weeks and conditioned on site for moisture stability. CETO puts the cup at Meyer lemon, red grape and hibiscus tea, with low funk (0/5) and delicate intensity (2/5).”
